What Are Community Meet-Ups?
EMDRIA is pleased to offer space during the conference for attendee-led Community Meet-Ups. These informal gatherings provide an opportunity for attendees to connect around shared interests, identities, clinical populations, professional experiences, or areas of practice.
Community Meet-Ups are intended to foster connection, networking, discussion, and mutual support among conference attendees.
Examples may include:
- Affinity or identity-based communities
- Clinical specialty or population interests
- Professional interests or shared experiences
- Regional, cultural, or language communities
- Emerging areas of EMDR practice
Meet-Ups are scheduled during designated conference lunch break periods and are subject to space availability
Guidelines & Important Information
- Community Meet-Ups are attendee-led and independently organized.
- Provision of meeting space by EMDRIA does not constitute sponsorship, endorsement, or representation of EMDRIA positions, policies, or viewpoints.
- Participants are expected to follow the conference Community Standards.
- Organizers must also agree to the Meet-Up Organizer Responsibilities (below).
- Requests must be submitted in advance to ensure equitable scheduling and room allocation.
- Space cannot be guaranteed and groups must submit a request by the deadline.
- The space is available to registered conference attendees only.
Organizer Responsibilities
As a Community Meet-Up organizer, I understand and agree that:
- I will help facilitate a respectful environment
- I will ensure discussion stays aligned with the Meet-Up purpose
- I will ensure participants adhere to conference policies and code of conduct
- I will start and end the Meet-Up within the assigned meeting time
- I understand that meeting space may be reassigned if guidelines are not followed
